The relationships I’ve built with underwriters over more than 20 years, backed by my technical ability and skills in risk management and business strategy, enable me to negotiate competitive and bespoke products.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Melbourne University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Melbourne Business School and a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) from the National Insurance Brokers Association.

Following 29 years with DLA Piper, I established my own law firm, Coterminous Legal in 2019.  I am also pursuing business opportunities with a range of trusted and valued clients.

I am recognised in Best Lawyers as one of the leading insurance and dispute resolution lawyers in Australia.  An accredited specialist in commercial litigation, I have sold about 50,000 hours of legal time over the last 29 years, mainly in dispute resolution, but also in a niche “front end” specialty of negotiating insurance and indemnity clauses in all sorts of commercial contracts.

I have expertise in:

• shareholder disputes: litigated claims and disciplinary hearings involving health professionals, class actions, director’s and officer’s liability and defamation law; and
• defence and prosecution of professional negligence claims.

I value, maintain and respect the relationships I build with insurers, underwriters, staff and clients whilst continually striving to secure ethical and mutually beneficial outcomes for all involved in the insurance process.

I am the Principal and owner of Guardsafe Insurance Brokers, which specialises in bespoke insurance and risk solutions for the security industry and additional broad ranging occupations.

I am a proud third generation experienced domestic and international Insurance Broker. This has provided me with a unique and detailed understanding of insurance, risk and client service as a result of the legacy from both my father and grandfather. My passion for insurance and technology grew from a young age.

I established Wide Bay Insurance Brokers in 2007 after it evolved from an agency business.

More than 30 years’ experience has taught me to understand that leading a broking business is more than managing people; it is about finding new ways of transmitting information and sharing ideas across a wide network. Technology in any business landscape is never static and so I believe communication is one factor where technology can help it grow. In my business, my goal is to always make sure that I capitalise on advanced communication methods and channels to stay relevant and successful.
